Jones Lang LaSalle Expands Service Offerings with Industry-Leading Retail Addition in Mexico

Luis Llaca joins firm to lead retail expansion in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO, Sept. 1, 2011 — Jones Lang LaSalle today announced a major expansion of the firm’s full-service operations in Mexico with the addition of retail services. The firm has hired industry-leading retail expert, Luis Llaca, to focus on a wide range of retail services across Mexico. Llaca will report to Pedro Azcue, CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Mexico, to broaden the firm’s client capabilities in this growing region.

“Luis is a seasoned commercial real estate veteran with more than 24 years of retail expertise. His addition to the Jones Lang LaSalle team enables the firm to expand our client service capabilities with the market’s leading retail specialist,” said Azcue. “Luis will lead a team that advises retail clients on sale-leasebacks, brokerage services including leasing and capital markets as well as providing advisory services for development and redevelopment of traditional malls and open-air centers.  These are all areas of expertise that our clients demand.”

Luis comes to Jones Lang LaSalle from CB Richard Ellis where he served as Vice President of Retail operations in Mexico. He studied at the Universidad Intercontinental in Mexico City, with a focus on graphic design.  Luis is a Senior Certified Leasing Specialist (SCLS) for the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and serves on the Government and Admission Committee board for the International SCLS degree. In the last six years, Luis has transacted more than $145 million throughout Mexico.

“The hiring of Luis to lead the firm’s Mexico retail operations is another investment that will pay great dividends for our clients throughout Latin America,” said Hector Klerian, Director of Jones Lang LaSalle Mexico. “As more and more retailers look to expand in Mexico and Latin America, it was imperative that we provide our clients with the on-the-ground retail expertise. We expect our Latin America retail team to have intensive cross-border interaction with our strong and established retail team in the United States.”

“The official launch of the corporate retail solutions group in Mexico will maximize the firm’s retail services throughout the region and connect our team with the firm’s existing practices,” said Llaca.
