An 8.5-hectare lot including a three story, 15,000 m2 central office building, six football fields, parking and landscaping.  The building can house up to 300 employees.  

FEMEXFUT is an affiliate of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and a founding member of  CONCACAF (Football Confederation of the North, Central America and the Caribbean Association).  Its main activities include management of Mexico’s football teams, regulating football players’ activities and regulations, arbiters and clubs registration and tournaments organization. 

Case Study

Prevailing situation

FEMEXFUT’s headquarters were located in the Colonia Roma residential district in Mexico City and had a Training Center located in the southern part of the City. With the purpose of bringing together its technical and administrative groups, in 2014, FEMEXFUT started the construction of  new headquarters containing first class corporate and sports facilities. 

JLL was selected as the firm in charge of managing the project and as a point of contact among FEMEXFUT, contractors and consultants.  The building was designed by the Mexican firm  Arroyo-Solís-Agraz in association of the architectural firm Oxígeno Arquitectura in charge of interior design.

The project was built on an 8.5-hectare lot. It comprises a three story, 15,000 m2 central office building and six football fields, parking and landscaping. The building can house up to 300 employees. 

JLL Initiatives

JLL Mexico was responsible for identifying, hiring and coordinating internationally experienced contractors, consultants and advisors that worked together to materialize the development of this project that, in view of the organization’s relevance, will have international exposure.  Close to 20 companies were coordinated for the execution of this project.

JLL’s created a high-quality project that meets all national and international standards required for world class sports institutions.  JLL was in charge of coordinating and supervising a wide range of the varied specialists required for this project. 

One of the main challenges was to merge the various corporate components with sports areas due to the magnitude and design as well as the varied features that each required.  

Results

Conclusion of the building, fields and additional facilities took 12 months. This project bears a significant number of sustainability components; all FIFA standards required for official training fields were met. 

The project obtained the “Building of the Year” award by the Obras trade magazine under the Corporate Interiors category. It also obtained a silver medal from Mexico City’s Bienal de Arquitectura (Architecture’s Biennale).  The construction of the building, fields and additional facilities was concluded in a 12-month period.
